Dear Lord, the Life, the Truth and the Way!
Hear us when to You we pray.
Here we come to Your presence today
We’re tired of being so far away
Here we come, never again to go astray.
Steer us in the right direction, along the narrow way.
Nearer to You we come, into Your presence to stay!
Clear our conscience, and forgive our sins each day
Be a potter to us, for we are Your clay
Ears open and hearts ready, to receive what you say;
Mere mortals we are, but only You we wish to obey.
Gear us up to face trials today
Fearing no more of death, our sins’ pay,
Nearer to You we come, into your will to obey!
